About Dhanwel Hybrid Seeds Limited (Incorporated In 2018)
The company is engaged in the seed manufacturing business, which includes the development, multiplication, processing, and supply of seeds for a variety of crops and vegetables. The seed manufacturing process is carried out in a structured manner through several stages and utilizes genetically superior seed material procured from reputable sources. Such seed material is multiplied, processed, conditioned, and handled according to established agronomic and processing methods to produce suitable seeds for cultivation, including those supplied to farmers for cultivation.
The company procures genetic seed material, including breeders and other suitable seed material, from reputable agricultural institutions, government-funded research organizations, and the open market. Additionally, seed production is conducted through arrangements with identified seed-growing farmers, using their land for cultivation.
Under these arrangements, the company supplies the necessary seed material and provides technical guidelines and cultivation protocols. Farmers perform sowing and cultivation operations according to the company’s instructions, while its field staff and agronomists monitor and oversee the crop to maintain quality standards. Although farmers retain ownership of the land, contract seed production is conducted according to the company’s established guidelines and supervision, and all subsequent processing, quality control, and commercial activities related to such seeds are handled by the company.
After harvesting, the grown seeds are transported to the company’s processing facility, where they undergo a number of controlled operations, including mechanical cleaning to remove inert matter and impurities, precision grading to ensure uniformity, and seed treatments to enhance storage capacity and protect against insects and diseases. The processed seeds are then systematically packaged using appropriate packaging standards to maintain quality, viability, and genetic traits before storage and distribution. The company’s seed processing unit is located in Jashapar, Kalavad, Jamnagar district, and is equipped with modern infrastructure spanning over 10,218 square feet.
The company currently operates under formal arrangements with contract seed farmers. However, it does not rely solely on these contract farmers for seed availability. In cases of operational needs, specific crop demands, or supply constraints, it also purchases seeds directly from farmers and the open market. The purchased seeds are then sorted, cleaned, graded, processed, quality checked, labeled, and packed at the company’s processing facility before being sold to the market.
The team consists of experienced agronomists, field staff, and technicians who ensure adherence to quality standards, help improve productivity, and implement sustainable farming practices. Over time, the company has built strong working relationships with the farming community and continues to follow an integrated approach, encompassing sourcing, production, quality control, and seed supply. Their seeds are sold under the brand name “Dhanvel Seeds.” The company is ISO 9001:2015 certified and is committed to maintaining consistent seed quality and supporting the farming sector with reliable seed solutions.
